About Me

Hello, my name is Giovanni. I started working the Southern Renaissance Pleasure Faire in 1984 for Phyllis Patterson (the progenitor of modern faires) and her son Kevin. Over the last 40 years, I have worked as a Guild street actor, stage actor, boothie, and crew. (On my way to Battle Pageant in this old photo.)

Now for something completely different: Artisan Booth Owner. I have always loved creating with my hands and working with wood is a partnership with nature – giving new life, a metamorphosis, to something once vibrant and alive.

So, come visit my booth, Sticks & Staves, at the Renaissance faires and fondle my wood. It’s long, hard, and smooth. It will keep you up day and night.

I want to thank all those people who came by my booth and expressed their appreciation of my craft.  My first opening day was a tremendous success.  That first gentlemen that came up to the counter saying “I’ll take this one,” had me floored that someone wanted to buy what I had made!  It’s been over ten years since I worked a faire.  Thanks again to all of you who helped to make my return a spectacular memory!
